Day 9: Grand Indonesia

Sunday, August 7th 2011

The tradition does still rolling in Sunday. In Sunday, it is my family turn to break our fast outside the house. At mall, usually (as the mall is the main attraction here in Jakarta). Now, my two cousins who work in Jakarta also included in the group.

We chose to break our fast at Grand Indonesia. The most luxurious, biggest, and complete mall in Jakarta (and Indonesia, perhaps). I think even Takashimaya or iSetan in Singapore can't beat this one. It has more than 8 floors and not less than a hundred tenants. So yes, it's a one-stop shopping center. For more information, check this website.

Anyway, back to the story. We went there at 16.00. You might've known the reason, eh? Yep, the traffic jam. On the street, we argued about the restaurant. I wanted to break the fast at Takigawa, since they have sushi and we could get discount from my father's credit card. While my brothers, arguing strongly like three musketeers, chose to do that at Burger King. We still didn't reach the understanding when we arrived so we let our father to chose. For Ngabuburit, we went to Gramedia, reading comics and sightseeing novels. While my mom and my female cousin went to The Seibu Department Store to did some window-shopping.

Minutes before Maghrib, my father called all of us to Grand Suki, the restaurant that my father finally chosed. They have chinese food, thai food, and seafood so it was cool for me, actually. Finally, the adzan announced. We broke our fast and the food was superb. Prawn with mayonnaise, steamed tofu, dim sum, chicken sauteed by lemon sauce, black-pepper-sauced crab, and so on. At 18.45, our stomach had already full and we have did the Maghrib pray.

Then, we walked again in the mall to do window-shopping, stopping by at Dairy Queen for their famous Blizzard ice cream (It tastes like heaven!), then my mom went to Yoshinoya to bought some yakiniku for our sahur at the next day. After that, we went home. Surely a pleasure for our tongues!
